Flame Resistant Safety Vests • FR Safety Vests
Flame resistant or Fire Resistant safety vests, also known as FR safety vests, are designed and manufactured within the stringent compliance guidelines and safety standards set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) or the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). FR Safety Vest designs, components and materials will vary based on level of protection required for proper compliance to ASTM F1506, NFPA 2112 or NFPA 70E standards for fire resistance or arc flash protection.

Flame Resistant Safety Vests
Fire resistant safety vests, or FR vests, are manufactured to meet very strict and specific safety guidelines. Not only are these items required to meet ANSI standards, but they also must meet the standards of either the NFPA or the ASTM. Fire resistant vests are utilized by those who work in conditions that require high visibility combined with protection from flames and arc flash. This feature makes flame retardant vests optimal for those who might be working with welders, grinders or saws, and other equipment that creates sparks or intense heat that could possibly start fires on the job. Note: FR safety vests are not made to be fire proof, but rather fire resistant. Do not depend solely on these vests for protection from fire; other safety precautions should also be met as required by the NFPA and/or ASTM.
