FLAME RESISTANT SAFETY VESTS
Fire-resistant safety vests, or FR vests, are manufactured to meet stringent and specific safety guidelines. Not only are these items required to meet ANSI standards, but they must also meet the NFPA or the ASTM standards. Fire-resistant vests are utilized by those who work in conditions that require high visibility combined with protection from flames and arc flash. This feature makes flame retardant vests optimal for those who might be working with welders, grinders or saws, and other equipment that creates sparks or intense heat that could possibly start fires on the job. Note: FR safety vests are not made to be fireproof, but rather fire-resistant. Do not depend solely on these vests for protection from fire; other safety precautions should also be met as required by the NFPA and/or ASTM.
