The National Safety Apparel DRIFIRE Enhanced Visibility FR CAT 3 Navy Safety Jacket delivers serious protection in demanding work conditions. Built with two layers of GORE-TEX PYRAD polyester on DuPont Nomex, this lightweight FR foul weather jacket is engineered for flash fire environments requiring CAT 3 and arc flash ratings up to 30 cal/cm². Tested to ASTM F2733, F1891, and F903 standards, it resists hot liquid, steam, petroleum, and oil-based mud while remaining breathable and fast-drying. 3M segmented FR reflective trim enhances visibility in low-light zones, and the jacket’s cold-crack resistance adds durability for harsh climates. Thoughtful design details include a zippered chest pocket, dual hand pockets, and mic or gas detector tabs. Made in the USA and non-ANSI rated, this enhanced visibility safety jacket is a trusted choice for oil, gas, utility, and industrial crews who need advanced FR protection without extra bulk.

Is this jacket rated for arc flash and flash fire hazards?
Yes, the jacket meets CAT 3 (30 cal/cm²) standards and is tested to ASTM F2733 and ASTM F1891 for flash fire and arc flash protection. It’s also compliant with ASTM F903 for liquid penetration.

What materials are used in this jacket?
This jacket features two layers of GORE-TEX PYRAD polyester on DuPont™ Nomex® knit. The fabric blend is 34% aramid, 33% lyocell, 31% modacrylic, and 2% anti-static fibers for moisture absorption, quick drying, and static resistance.

Does this jacket have high visibility features?
Yes. The jacket uses 3M™ Scotchlite™ FR segmented reflective trim to enhance visibility, especially in low-light work conditions. Note that it is classified as Enhanced Visibility, not ANSI Type R or P compliant.

Is the jacket waterproof?
Yes, the HYDROFlash FR™ GORE-TEX PYRAD construction provides reliable liquid and steam resistance, and also resists oil-based muds and hot liquids.

What pockets and features does this jacket offer?
It includes a zippered chest pocket, two lower front pockets, and two mic/gas detector loops, along with hook-and-loop cuffs for a secure fit.

How does the jacket perform in cold weather?
The fabric resists cracking in low temperatures, making it suitable for cold and foul weather environments.

What sizes are available?
The jacket is offered in navy, in sizes SM through 3X.

How should I care for this jacket?
Machine wash warm with mild detergent. Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or starch. Do not dry clean or iron. Tumble dry on permanent press setting.

Is this jacket breathable and comfortable for long shifts?
Yes. The lightweight construction and breathable materials help wick moisture and dry quickly, supporting comfort during extended wear.

Does it provide chemical resistance?
The jacket is resistant to petroleum and oil-based muds but check the ASTM F903 reference for details on chemical penetration. Always refer to your specific worksite’s requirements.
